Urgent Advisory: SSD Cache Anomaly Resolution & Upgrade Version

Urgent Advisory: SSD Cache Anomaly Resolution & Upgrade Version

Dear Customer,

We have identified that a rare bug in the SSD cache feature can cause hard drives to become unrecognizable and un-mountable, leading to temporary inaccessibility of your data. To mitigate risks and enhance system performance proactively, we urge an immediate upgrade to the latest firmware, client software, and applications.

Here are the latest version numbers for firmware, PC, and Mobile:

(by the date of June 13th)

  • Firmware: 1.0.0.0862
  • Windows/Mac: 1.0.0.28295
  • iOS/Android: 1.0.8

You can read the recent update information in this link: Enhancements and bug fixes to the software system

To ensure data security, please follow these steps in the Storage Manager of your NASync device:

Step 1: Remove Current SSD Cache

(If you don't have cached data, you can skip this step.)

  1. Navigate to the Storage Management tab.
  2. For each storage pool where you have enabled performance enhancement features, click the More button (three dots ···) to the right of the storage pool.
  3. Choose the appropriate management option.
  4. In the subsequent window, select the option to disable the enhancement for all associated volumes.

Step 2: Upgrade to Latest Firmware and Client Version

You can choose OTA or manual update. Check the link for detailed steps: Click here and follow this instruction
